Do you feel that
your treatment is helping, but...
something is missing?

As therapists,
We want to feel certain
 about our diagnoses
and to have tools for treating
 our patients' problems,
whether they are complex or simple.

We want to give our patients more.
?What is the ICS Method
ICS method is a diagnostic and therapeutic method that draws from the worlds of craniosacral and osteopathy. The method was developed by osteopath Oren Dotan, D.O. and taught in the last 15 years in the United States, Europe and Israel.

The goal of ICS treatment is to create the optimal mechanical and physiological conditions to allow the body to restore its well-being in cases of any health issue - pain, restriction of movement, chronic dysfunctions, and more.
In ICS treatment, the practitioner diagnoses various body systems, in order to identify the root of the patient's problem. The treatment focuses on the root of the problem, and is done with gentle and precise touch.

image
What is the Uniqueness of the ICS Method
  • The root cause of the problem is diagnosed - through anatomical and myofascial chains that most therapists are not familiar with

  • All body systems are treated: musculoskeletal, digestive, respiratory, hormonal, nervous, and more...

  • Treatment is provided with gentle and precise touch, affecting five layers: muscles, bones, fascia\dura-mater, CSF, and brain.

Why is the Craniosacral System a Key Component of the ICS Method?

In the ICS Method, a great number of the body’s systems can be diagnosed and treated: the musco-skeletal system, the hormonal system, the nervous system, the digestive system, the lymphatic system, the immune system, etc.

The craniosacral system is connected to all those systems via muscles, bones, nerves, fascia, and more.

Therefore, the craniosacral system affects all the systems of the body, and is also affected by all the systems of the body. Dysfunctions in the craniosacral system are often a result of other bodily dysfunctions, and a cause of bodily dysfunctions. Diagnosing and treating the organs of the body without considering the craniosacral system can result in short-term outcomes.
image
The 3 Stages of ICS Treatment
In ICS, the practitioner:
1. Diagnoses the source of the patient’s problem
2. Treats the source of the problem
3. Tests the effect of the technique
image
Stage 1
In ICS, practitioners develop deep familiarity with anatomical chains and anatomical connections of various bodily systems. This allows the practitioner to diagnose the link in the anatomical chain that is the ROOT CAUSE of the patient’s problem.
The diagnosis is done mainly through touching and identifying dysfunctions in 5 different layers of the craniosacral system: muscles, bones, dura-mater, CSF, and the brain itself.
This 5 Layers Principle is also applied to the rest of the body's tissues: each tissue can be diagnosed and treated in 5 different layers.
The practitioner then checks the different links in the chain for sensitivity or pain. After treating the source of the problem, the practitioner will re-check those links. Usually, if the diagnosis was correct, and the source of the problem was treated well, the patient will be amazed to discover that although the practitioner did not treat those body parts directly, the sensitivity or pain - is gone.
Stage 2
image
Most of the time, the touch in ICS treatment is characterized by placing hands gently for a minute or two, until the practitioner treats the tissue he or she is touching.
While placing the hand in this way, a very subtle movement is made, but that movement is usually not felt by the patient. During that time, the practitioner concentrates and focuses on subtle sensations that occur in the body in 5 different tissue layers, in order to diagnose\treat the layer that is the root of the problem.
For a great number of patients, this form of treatment is relaxing, painless, and with minimum risk of injury.

Stage 3
image
Treating the source of the problem eases pain and sensitivity of organs connected to this source via anatomical chains.
After treating the root cause, the practitioner palpates the different tissues in the anatomical chain, and if the diagnosis and treatment was done well - those tissues condition will improve (greater range of movement, less sensitivity to touch, less pain, etc).
This test at the end of the treatment allows the practitioner to know immediately whether the treatment was successful. This gives both the practitioner and the client a boost of confidence in the treatment.

FAQ
What ICS's Foundation Course Provides Practitioners

The ICS Foundation Course begins with a short exploration of ICS's philosophical principles, emphasizing fundamental thinking in ICS Method.

Next, students learn to diagnose and treat upper (OCCIPUT-C1-C2) and lower (tailbone, sacrum, sacroiliac joint, L5-L4) spine ends, forming the basis for craniosacral system treatment.

Advancing to cranial alignment, students diagnose and treat muscle and bone layers, with added focus on sutures and skull muscles for precision.

Specialized alignment tests aid in diagnosing and treating the body as a unified system.

Upon course completion, students offer comprehensive treatments for both spinal and craniosacral systems.

Who Is the Coursse Suitable For
The course is intended for body practitioners: doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists, physiotherapists, Chinese medicine therapists, craniosacral therapists, etc. You may attend the workshop even if you are still in the process of training.

What Is So Special about ICS Diagnosis Method
We will discuss it further at the seminar, however, in short, an ICS  diagnosis  is based on two things:

1 - Anatomical connections that most therapists are not familiar with.

2 - High touch sensitivity, which allows one to sense 5 layers of tissues with great precision, and diagnose allowing one to ascertain in which tissue the problem is present.

You will experience that during the model treatment and the practical exercises that you will undertake at the workshop.

image
"What Do You Mean When You Say “5 Layers of Tissues
ICS’ physical contact allows the therapist to differentiate among 5 types of tissues:
Muscle tissue, bone tissue, dura mater (fascia), Cerebrospinal fluid, and brain tissue.
The therapist learns how to feel each tissue and then finds out whether it is dysfunctional. This is one of the reasons why ICS diagnosis is so accurate.

I’m Used to Provide Deep-Tissue Massage. Is ICS Method Suitable for Me
Yes! Often, during the course, deep-tissue massage therapists see evidence of the power of gentle touch and are profoundly inspired.

Why do your students say that ICS changed their lives
Based on what we hear from our students, there are four main reasons:

  • Our students feel confident in their professional ability, in their uniqueness, and in their ability to help people with a variety of problems.

  • Their concentration skills and inner peace have improved while learning and practicing the ICS Method.

  • Our students are highly interested in and curious about every treatment anew because no one treatment is similar to another Each treatment is akin to fascinating detective work in ascertaining the source of a given problem.

  • As they further their insight into the ICS method, our students’ clinics fill up faster.

I Do Want to Study the ICS Method, However, It Entails a Considerable Investment
The scope and depth of ICS are great since it is a method that enables the treatment of a very wide array of problems, of different body systems, and of individuals with rather complex difficulties.

After taking the first course, the methods can already be implemented in your practice at your clinic. Those who want to fully learn the ICS method can undertake the study of the entire nine courses we offer, each of which takes 100 academic hours. You may also learn less. The program is structured modularly, and you may opt to participate in as many courses as you like and at a pace that suits you personally.
But let us warn you - it's addictive... Those who start usually wish to continue all the way to the end.

After completing four courses, graduates of Level 4 courses will receive certification from the ICS Training Center and will possess advanced abilities to effectively address a wide range of health-related issues with great success. At this stage, the student has learned to balance the spinal column, most internal organs, the dorsal system, and the majority of the major muscles in the body.

I Am Not a Body Practitioner, Can I Attend
The workshop is intended for body therapists with anatomical knowledge and hands-on experience. If this does not apply to you, talk to us and we'll see how we take it from there.  Please contact Oren via Whatsapp at 972-50-6348250.
