The Leadership Project: Study and Practice
June 30 - July 28, 2019 at Oranim College of Education, in the Galilee
This unique academic summer program offers students the opportunity to experience the real Israel, in all its complexity and nuance, while studying the area's history, geography, and demography. Academic credit is available for the courses at Oranim College. The Galilee location presents many occasions to interact with people of diverse backgrounds who make up Israeli society, including Jews, Arabs, Christians, Muslims, Druze, and Bedouins. Students will gain the knowledge and practical skills necessary to present Israel in a personal, positive, and realistic light and to speak up if and when faced with anti-Semitism. Numerous field study trips, excursions and volunteer experiences to different parts of the country provide students with a first-rate tourist experience as well as a close-up look at some of the remarkable individuals and endeavors that hold the secret to Israel's creativity, survival, and resilience. The program welcomes undergraduate and graduate students, as well as individuals who do not need academic credit for their participation.
