Jerusalema, a  local accelerator for public leadership, offers practical tools for change and influence to those interested in public office or public sector work, of all kinds, in Jerusalem.
The program is led by Jerusalem Philanthropy Initiatives, a new organization established by the Leichtag Foundation and funded by a growing consortium of partners.

Jerusalema is geared towards influencers in Jerusalem who are active in different parts of the city, who come from diverse backgrounds and are currently involved in activities in Jerusalem. The relevant candidates are looking to integrate into key roles in the public sector from the perspective of shared society and common good.
The accelerator will enable the participants to take their ideas from vision to implementation. The participants will create a new public agenda, create and define an image of a shared future for the city of Jerusalem, acquire skills and language to excel in public service, and receive professional mentoring.

During the program, the participants will convene regularly to learn more about Jerusalem, hear from experts including experienced civic leaders and academics, and gain skills and language as they continue to impact and influence the public sphere. The program will include training in various topics such as campaign building, storytelling, using digital media, and more.
    Why now?
Over the last decade, the Foundation has been working to strengthen Jerusalem's civil society by providing philanthropic support and by establishing the Jerusalem Model. The in - depth knowledge of the area has revealed a real need to build a new public service track and expand its activities to leaders who see themselves integrated into public service work and key local public sector positions.
    Why in Jerusalem?
Jerusalem is one of the most diverse cities in the world, a symbol as well as a lived-in place with rich history alongside everyday life. Because of this, Jerusalem is often the focus of conflict and scrutiny. While maintaining a realistic and pragmatic approach, the Jerusalema Program will explore ways to use the diversity of the city as a unique opportunity for creativity, an asset that allows for debate and shared learning and a way to create a full human mosaic of all the different identities. The Jerusalema Project will be focused on the practical and will take no political or partisan position.
